South Africa coach Corrie van Zyl believes beating India provided a "psychological boost" to his side following the disappointment of defeat to England.
Ireland are their next opponents, at Eden Gardens on Tuesday, and Van Zyl believes the India win was a crucial boost for the Proteas, who are constantly battling the "chokers" tag that follows their progress at major tournaments following several high-profile slip-ups.
"The win against India was good for us and our morale. It was a psychological boost for us and a very important game in the tournament," said Van Zyl.
"But we are going to take it one game at a time. We are not looking far too ahead now. Our focus is on Ireland.
"We are fully aware of what Ireland have done. It's important to prepare not just from a tactical but from a mental point of view.
